Halotherapy

Antibacterial and Antifungal

Salt particles help purify the respiratory system and skin, reducing inflammation and bacteria. Its mucolytic properties loosens excessive mucus and speeds up mucociliary transport which help cleanse the respiratory tract and skin

Stress Reduction and Mood Stabilisation

Negative ions released in the salt room can counteract the “electrosmog” of positive ions produced from electronic devices, supporting relaxation and a balanced mood

Congestion Relief

The inhaled salt particles are small enough to reach deep into the respiratory system, where it clings to soft tissues, thinning congestion in sinuses, bronchial airways and lungs. The Salt helps to relieve symptoms of allergies, colds, flu, smoking cessation, cystic fibrosis, COPD, asthma and other bronchial conditions

Respiratory Health and Immunity Boost

Being surrounded by micro particles of pharmaceutical-grade salt can improve respiratory health and boost the immune system by reducing pathogen agents (airborne pollen) IgE levels (immune system oversensitivity) and ease symptoms of asthma, chronic bronchitis, sinusitis, and allergies

Improve skin conditions/Enhanced Skin Health

Regular Halotherapy treatments may benefit skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. Pure salts have natural moisturising properties, support the skin’s water balance and barrier function by attracting moisture to the skin aiding hydration and balance

Harness the Natural Benefits of Dry Salt Therapy

What to expect

HALOTHERAPY, also known as Dry Salt Therapy, uses the natural antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of salt to support respiratory and skin health. Sessions are suitable for anyone over 6 months old, provided young children are supervised by a parent, care giver or guardian.

Guidelines for a Halotherapy session

  • Wear comfortable clothing: Blankets are provided for extra cosiness. Coat hooks are available in the salt room and reception area. Tissues and a closed bin are supplied in the salt room. Extra lighting is available if required.

  • Example of First Session: Clients have a 60 minute window which includes orientation, medical health questionnaires, first Halotherapy session and feedback time.

  • No food or drink: Only water is permitted in the salt room, with a water station available in the reception. Staying hydrated after a session is recommended.

Potential Side Effects

Side effects are minimal and transient. Some may experience a tickle in the throat or sinuses, or sinus drainage as the mucus breaks up. Excess of mucus in the upper airway may break up and drain following a treatment. For those who experience a slight cough, this is a sign that the salt therapy is effectively moving the impurities through the cilia. Others may experience minor skin irritation, or skin that tingles/itches as circulation is brought to the surface.
